The "Wizard of Oz" has been my favorite movie from childhood. I think I was a born dog lover, so much so, my siblings would call me "Barky".
"Toto, I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore!" Indeed my world was changed when my parents gave me "Heather", my first Cairn, at age 11. She became my companion of choice on into adulthood. I haven't been without a Cairn since.
Exhibiting in dog shows and eventually breeding Cairns gradually became part of my life in the early 90s. My sister suggested Barky's Babes as my kennel name. I have since changed it to Daybreak Cairns.
We are located in the Missoula, Montana Valley. Our Cairns enjoy a well treed acreage situated on the bank of a creek with an abundance of waterfowl and wildlife nearby. They enjoy going to ground in the tunnels available to them in the exercise yard.
I breed for conformation and temperament. I devote many hours to properly socializing my puppies and am selective in their placement. Daybreak Cairns has produced numerous champions and performance titled dogs in very limited breeding.
Cairns are one of my passions, and I am happy to discuss them with anyone!
